Information
The Championship (Liga2) consists of 20 clubs divided into two groups — Group A and Group B — based on geographical location, with 10 clubs in each group. The season runs from September to May. Teams play each other in a triple round-robin format, meaning every two sides meet three times over the course of the season. Promotion The winner of each group advances directly to the Championship Final and earns automatic promotion to the Super League (top flight). The runners-up from each group enter a promotion play-off to contest the remaining promotion spot. Relegation The 10th-place club in each group is automatically relegated to Liga Nusantara (third tier). The 9th-place clubs from each group meet in a single-match relegation play-off, with the loser also dropping down to Liga Nusantara. Club Composition (2025–26) The 20 participating clubs are made up of 14 clubs retained from the previous season, 3 clubs relegated from the Super League, and 3 clubs promoted from Liga Nusantara.
